In collaboration with the automotive rubber manufactring company Hordagruppen and the Swedish design museum Vandalorum, we had the opportunity to analyze and rework their waste system.
Using existing design work around plastic-digesting mycelium as a precedent, we designed a speculative exhibition that proposes a future where mycelium can also digest rubber. Conceding to the reality of factory as organism, we looked at how the inputs and outputs could develop a circular rather than linear waste stream.
